Ontario's workforce performs

An investment in workers: low turnover rates are good for business

Ontario's investment in workers pays off in today's economy. Average employee job tenure in Ontario was almost 9 years in 2006, significantly higher than the U.S. average of 4.0 years. In our manufacturing sector, job tenure was even higher at over 9.5 years, while U.S. employers enjoy only an average tenure of 5.5 years. Lower turnover means lower labour costs and a more profitable business climate for companies in Ontario.
