Labour Market Programmes as a % of GDP 2005-2006


Government in conjunction with industry spends billions of dollars annually to ensure that job skills and industry needs complement each other. Cooperative training and work-study programs, whereby students spend time working for selected companies, are benefiting both businesses and students by providing future employees with valuable experience and skills.
