An established political structure
Ontario's parliamentary structure
Parliament encompasses three functional areas:
Legislative:
- Enacts, amends and repeals legislation.
- Authorizes collections and expenditures.
- Debates the policies put forth by the Government.
Judiciary:
- Adjudicates civil and criminal disputes through all levels of courts in the province.
Executive:
- Formulates government policies.
- Administers government programs.
