The Spill Action Centre and the Pesticides Licensing Program

Industrial Spills
  • When pollutants are spilled into the environment, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment’s primary role is to ensure that whoever is responsible for the spill contains it and cleans up the site in accordance with ministry guidelines.

  • Pollutants that are spilled or discharged into the environment must be reported to the Spill Action Centre of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (1-800-268-6060), as well as to the local municipality.
